Cannot connect to local Oracle Server

Postby horizonip » Wed Dec 17, 2014 2:14 pm

We cannot connect to oracle and we get the follow message.

"TNS Listener Service is not started. Please start Oracle Listener service."

All requirements are met.

Another product on same server connects and works.

Hello.

The "TNS Listener Service is not started. Please start Oracle Listener service." error may also indicate that some of the Oracle connection details are entered incorrectly, i.e. hostname/IP address, listen port, instance number (SID) in CloudBacko Pro

Please can you provide us with details of your Oracle setup:

-What version of CloudBacko Pro are you using?
-What version of Oracle is CloudBacko Pro connecting to?
-What version of Windows is it installed on?
-Can you perform a -> lsnrctl status to verify Oracle instance SID entered is correct?
-Can you perform a -> tnsping [oracle_hostname] to verify the settings you entered into CloudBacko Pro are correct?

Please post the results on this thread.

CloudBacko requires SQL*NET on TCP/IP to work correctly. Please setup a TCP/IP TNS listener for your Oracle instance if this hasn't been configured already.
