Hyper-V Backup generates a BSOD

Postby kess » Thu Sep 28, 2017 9:27 pm

Hi all guys,
this is my first post in these forums.

I have a customer's Windows Server 2012r2 machine with different backup types enabled.
When I activate the schedule for the Hyper-V backup, when this specific backup task is running the server goes to a BSOD.

Windows Server 2012r2 with CloudBacko 3.1.0.1

Which kind of logs/information do you need in order to investigate ?
Thank you very much, bye Kess.

Hi Kess,

To help us looking into this issue, could you please provide us with the Cloudbacko client log files and a screen shot of the BSOD for our investigation?

You can copy the log files to Dropbox, OneDrive, Google drive etc and share the link on this thread for us to download?

Please refer to our FAQ "Where are the CloudBacko backup and restore logs located?" viewtopic.php?f=58&t=233

Dear Jeff,
on the 8 of october I sent you a PM with everything you asked me, but unfortunately I didn't yet hear nothing from your part.

Could you be so kind to tell me something about your investigation of my logs ?

Thank you very much,
bye Kess.

Hi Kess,

Sorry for the late reply. About the backup causing BSOD, may I ask if you can also provide us with a screen capture?

Unfortunately it's not possible because it's a server running in a customer's rack.

I tell you that because the customer called me several times (once a day) more or less at 14:00 telling me that he lost connectivity to the structure. After a lot o research, I found the cause to be CloudBacko.
If you want I can send you every log you need or if I find that again some memory dumps.

At present I disabled the Hyper-V backup job and the server is running perfectly... but the customer does not have a backup of the VMs.

Please let me know.
Kindest Regards, Kess.

H Kess,

Thank you for your update. If possible, please kindly send us the Event Viewer or dump file for investigation.

Hi Kess,

Do you have the latest CBK client log folder to provide? The one you provided before was from Sept with Cloudbacko running in v2.9.0.1.
