Can't manage to connect to an Openstack container

Postby flc » Thu Jul 21, 2016 4:49 pm

Hi,

I'm trying for the first time to use the OpenStack functionnaly on Cloudbacko to create scalable storage for our customers backups.
But I get this error after the authentication step :
"[j] [CloudException.ContainerNotFoundExpt] [OpenStackManager.mkdirs] Failed to mkdirs: 1469019167930, container "Backup01" does not exist

- I tried to connect with swift and it's ok :
export OS_AUTH_URL=https://auth.cloud.ovh.net/v2.0/
export OS_TENANT_ID=fbac091de60d432a8bf232241e524ec4
export OS_TENANT_NAME="3690699235601080"
export OS_USERNAME="Nd5ksaF3AFMs"
export OS_PASSWORD="xxx"
export OS_REGION_NAME="SBG1"
swift list (this shows me "Backup01" and other containers)
swift upload Backup01 file01.txt
swift list Backup01 (this shows me all uploaded objects

- I tried with Cyberduck, and I also have my containers and objects successfully

- When I use CloudBacko, i tried this settings :
http://intuidis.com/dl/cloudbacko/capture.jpg
So the authentication seems to work (it finds the project name, the list of regions...) but every name or id I tried on Container field "does not exist"

Any idea ?

I don't know if it's important, but the URL is https://auth.cloud.ovh.net/v2.0/ for the auth.
I can't find how to specify that on Cloudbacko... Swift does not work if I use https://auth.cloud.ovh.net

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi François,

Regarding the Openstack setup as backup destination, can you please have a look the following FAQ to see if this helps?

How to setup OpenStack storage for CloudBacko users?

Hi Jeff,

I'm sorry but I'm only on the client side.
This Openstack is hosted by OVH (one of the main european hosters).

I read again the FAQ article you told me, and it seems to be OK, as when I test writing with my username/password/project id/container name, with the swift-client or CyberDuck, it works...

I only can manage users / containers / security rules (IP restrictions), but not the "roles" :(
I may give you via PM the Openrc file that successfully connects. And I may also ask to the hoster, but I don't know what I should ask to him, because the error message doesn't match the behavior (the specified container exists)

Thanks a lot for your help. I've many customers interested in.
