Settings Import/Export problem

Postby donisg » Thu Nov 12, 2015 1:05 am

Situation:
Export Settings from Alice computer.
Import Settings to Bob computer.
All settings at Backup Set looks ok, except Backup Schedule: it becomes to "Off". At Alice computer it is set to daily.

Both Alice and Bob have up to date CloudBacko Pro versions.

Hi donisg,

This is expected. When the new settings is imported, the schedule should not be enabled by default. This is to ensure that backup are not unexpectedly run on the new machine once the settings.sys has been imported. This is to avoid

- starting a scheduled backup when updates/changes has not been made yet.
- backup running before a restore if you are recovering a system.

Since the import, you could be attempting a restore first. If a scheduled backup is enabled and triggers a backup before any update/restore has been made then this could cause some problems such as moving all the backup data on the destination to retention.

Is there any more settings that are not applied when importing.

Hi donisg,

This would only be the scheduled settings. The config of the backup set would be applied and normally needs to be edited/adjusted to the new machine.
