Failed to commit journal

Postby rharris » Wed Oct 15, 2014 11:31 pm

Hello. I have a weekly backup set, and I keep getting the following errors:

[2014/10/15 11:18:54] [erro] [i] [BlockFile.commitFromJournal] Failed to commit journal, caused by [RuntimeException] [CommitJournal.run] error, caused by [h] [JournalFile.parseJournalEntry] Invalid type=97, raf: E:\Temp\CloudBacko Pro\USEV\1410890425737\Local@1410891245493\index\index-s0.j00, lOffset: 66702

[2014/10/15 11:18:54] [erro] Cannot get remote file list ([i] [BlockFile.commitFromJournal] Failed to commit journal, caused by [RuntimeException] [CommitJournal.run] error, caused by [h] [JournalFile.parseJournalEntry] Invalid type=97, raf: E:\Temp\CloudBacko Pro\USEV\1410890425737\Local@1410891245493\index\index-s0.j00, lOffset: 66702)

We also have a daily backup set that completes successfully. The difference between the two sets is that our weekly one uses encryption.

Hello,

This issue may not be related to encryption of this backup set. From the extract of the backup logs it appears the local index files for your weekly backup set which are stored in the E:\Temp\CloudBacko Pro\USEV\1410890425737\.. may have corrupted as CloudBacko encounter issues when accessing them.

Please try the following steps:

1. Make sure the backup job is stopped.
2. Delete the temporary folder "E:\Temp\CloudBacko Pro\USEV\1410890425737"

The index files will be re-synchronized with the copy on your destination storage on the next backup job.

Also make sure :

1. There are no disk related issues with E:\ drive
2. You maintain sufficient free disk space on E:\ drive. In addition to index files, CloudBacko Pro/Lite uses E:\Temp\CloudBacko Pro\USEV\1410890425737 folder to temporarily store incremental & differential delta files during backup jobs.
3. If you have anti-virus software installed on this machine, you need exclude E:\Temp folder
