Thank you for your interest in CloudBacko Pro.

- Can tell us which MS Exchange version your using? Please include service pack and cumulative update version.
- Which Windows version is you Exchange installed on?
- Are you logged into Windows using an account with administrator account or privileges?

Hello

Can you verify in:

- [Administrative Tools]>[Services] if the MS Exchange related services are started?
- [Exchange Management Console]>[Server Configuration]>[Mailbox]>[Database Management] if the mailbox databases are mounted ?

Do you mind providing us with the screen shots?

Hello,

It looks all of the Exchange related services are started including the "Microsoft Exchange Information Store" service. You do not necessary need to start the "Microsoft Exchange Server Extension for Windows Server Backup" service.

- Are you able to check the [Exchange Management Console]>[Server Configuration]>[Mailbox]>[Database Management] and see if the mailbox databases are mounted?

- Can you check if there are any Voume Shadow Copy related issues, please open a command prompt run a "vssadmin list writers" and post the results?

Hello,

CloudBacko Pro use Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service to create a consistent snapshot of the Exchange databases for backup, the "Microsoft Exchange Writer" error is affecting the listing of the Exchange mailbox databases.

To resolve this problem:

1. Try to re-registering the VSS service by running the C:\Program Files\CloudBacko Pro\bin\RegisterVSS.bat file
2. After re-registering VSS on your MS Exchange server, reboot the machine for the settings to take effect.
3. After restarting the machine run a "vssadmin list writers" again to verify the "Microsoft Exchange Writer" is stable and with no errors.

You can then proceed to create an MS Exchange database backup set on CloudBacko Pro.

Hello,

The missing component is not used by CloudBacko Pro for Exchange backups.

It is used by Windows Server Backup to support Exchange backups http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee221172(v=exchg.80).aspx

I think I finally got it, (see screenshot) , my second storage group has its LCR enabled and after disabling it, I was able to see my Information store in the cloudbacko.. I will give it a try again tonight and check if the backup will be successful. Thank you so much Rafael!

Hello

Thank you for sharing with us.

It's strange the local continuous replication service would affect the listing of your mailbox databases.

Please let us know how your back job go.
