Hello,

May I ask how would you like to restore mail from a recovered database? If you have the Exchange database restored, it is not necessary to restore the mail again.

From a recovery database. When I select restore to an alternate location, how do I set the database name?

Hello,

For your information, you can name the Exchange database to restore in alternative location as showed below:

OK Jeff,
So I specified an alternate location, an alternate database name, and it restored, and automatically mounted. Now, I have the production mail database, and this recovered database mounted, only the recovered database is not a recovery database, it's a mail database. How do I recover items from this restored database. The users in question already have active mailboxes in the production database.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. For your information, the process to recover items from your restored database to your production database is out of our scope. Please kindly contact Exchange Administrator to ask Microsoft for a solution.
