Local Backup failed

Postby Bluejay » Tue Aug 04, 2015 4:56 pm

Hi,
yesterday I successfully ran a smaller backup (only documents) to my external hard drive. then I wanted to also do the complete drive backup, but I get a fail every time I try. This is the wrong time, because I will travel tomorrow. :-(
The log is already in Dropbox uploaded. I will send you the link as PM.
Thanks!

Hi Bluejay,

Can you PM me the link for the logs and we shall check the logs for the possible cause of the errors.

Hi Bluejay,

Looking at the system logs, it seems that there is a problem opening the index file. To check on the index file, please run a Data Integrity Check with CRC enabled on the backup set.

For details on how to perform a "Data Integrity Check", please refer to the following FAQ article "How do I ensure the data integrity of the files in my backup sets?" viewtopic.php?f=58&t=81

OK, I finally had time to do this integrity check. It showed two errors.

Here is the last bit of from page 30301 ;-) (see PM).

Hi BlueJay,

Any chance you can re-send the file. Found no attachments in the PM.

Hi BlueJay,

The logs suggest a problem with the index. To resolve this can you run a Data Integrity check with crc. For details on how to perform a "Data Integrity Check", please refer to the following FAQ article "How do I ensure the data integrity of the files in my backup sets?" viewtopic.php?f=58&t=81

I did that already. What I sent you is the result of the Data Integrity Check. so the question is what is the next step AFTER the data integrity check.

Hi BlueJay,

Sorry, should have clarified why we asked for the Data Integrity Check with CRC again.

We noticed on the log detail you provided that the CRC check itself was not enabled.

1441095488370,2015-09-01-10-18-08,ERROR,Utilities,"Finished data integrity check with error on all backup sets, crc disabled"
1441095488370,2015-09-01-10-18-08,INFO,Utilities,"Completed data integrity check on all backup sets, crc disabled"

Also the log suggest that the problem is with the local index file itself. Could you have a look and remove the index folder located under "D:\Temp\CloudBacko Lite\1434574914428\Local@1434575007361\"

This removes the indexes stored locally on the backup set. When you run a backup, CloudBacko Lite will sync the index from your backup destination.
