Can i change the location of the source files

Postby jechow » Sat Dec 13, 2014 8:43 am

I would like to start to backup about 500 gb of data on my Macbook to Onedrive. After the data is fully backed up I would like to move the data to a QNAP NAS drive in that is current under repair. All subsequent backups by Cloudbacko will be based on the files added or deleted from the NAS drive. Can this be done?

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in CloudBacko.

Yes, this can be done.

If you initially backed up all files from your machine on a local drive to your OneDrive account and then moved them over to a NAS device. In the CloudBacko Backup Source screen, you will need to select the new folder location on the NAS device and unselect the local drive location. When you start the next backup job CloudBacko will detect these as moved files and they will not be re-uploaded.

To ensure you are clear on the procedure, please perform a few small test backup jobs to familiarize yourself with this procedure first before attempting it with the full 500GB.
