Transfer License from Old MAC to New MAC [SOLVED]

Postby ricardoyiu » Fri Dec 12, 2014 2:02 pm

Hi,

I had purchased a CBL license on my MAC.
I have purchased a new MAC and want to use that CBL license on the new MAC instead. I will no longer use that CBL license on the old MAC.
I have installed that CBL license on the new MAC, and I have received the "CloudBacko License Violation" email.
According to the email, I would need to:
(1). uninstalling the exceeded software and deleting all the backup sets created by the exceeded modules,

What is the proper way to uninstall the software from the old MAC? Do I just delete the CBL from the application folder?

Thanks

Hello,

To uninsall CloudBacko Lite from a Mac OS X machine:

1. Open a terminal
2. sudo /Applications/CloudBacko Lite.app/bin/uninstall.sh

Note: Please remember to export the settings.sys file before you uninstall if you wish to access your data on the new machine.

Hi,

Have performed the command with results as follows. Was the uninstallation completed?
I still see the CloudBacko Lite folder in the Applications directory. Can I delete the whole CloudBacko Lite folder now?

$ sudo /Applications/CloudBacko\ Lite.app/bin/uninstall.sh
Kill Process by Image Name: /Applications/CloudBacko Lite.app
Kill process of PID 7451
Killed: 9
$ Kill process of PID 7452

Thanks

Hello,

The results you posted and the fact the CloudBacko folders are still present indicates the uninstall process may not have been fully completed.

Can you try running sudo /Applications/CloudBacko\ Lite.app/bin/uninstall.sh again?

Have run again with results as follows:

$ sudo /Applications/CloudBacko\ Lite.app/bin/uninstall.sh
Password:
Shutdown Scheduler for CloudBacko Lite
Wait 5 seconds before Scheduler exits
Kill Process by Image Name: /Applications/CloudBacko Lite.app
Kill process of PID 39266
Killed: 9
$ Kill process of PID 39267

$

Was the uninstallation successful?

Hello

Yes, it looks like CloudBacko Lite was successfully uninstalled on your Mac.

You can verify this by checking if the /Applications/CloudBacko Lite.app folder and its contents have been removed from your machine.

Unfortunately, the folder is still there as follows:

$ ls -al | grep CloudBacko\
drwxrwxr-x 15 root admin 510 Nov 8 02:24 CloudBacko Lite.app
drwxr-xr-x 5 root admin 170 Dec 5 17:57 CloudBacko Pro.app
$

What should I do next?

Hello,

You can check if any CloudBacko process are running using -> ps -ef|grep java

if there are no Java process running, you can manually delete the /Applications/CloudBacko Lite.app folder

How should I terminate it permanently?

Problem solved after manually deleting the CBL folder and then rebooting the machine.
