Moving backup program to a new computer

I need to install my backup to a different computer. The previous computer is no longer working. How do I do that?

Hi aiminv,

Once you have installed CloudBacko on a new machine. You can apply your licenses key using the steps mentioned in our FAQ "How do I apply a license key to a new CloudBacko Pro/Lite installation?" viewtopic.php?f=31&t=295

For the backup data. I am assuming that you have no access to the machine as it is no longer working. If that is the case, then can you copy the latest copy of *.xml.cgz from your backup destination. The file would be under the destination Settings folder. So if you have set the destination to a network path, you can see this under \\x.x.x.x\foldername\settings

Once you have the copy of the file, please use steps to import

1. Click on [Utilities]
2. On next screen select [Ex/Import Settings] and click on [Import Now]
3. Select the location of the *.xml.cgz file and click ok.

After this, you should be able to see your backup sets to make a restore from.

Please note that you need to apply the license key that was originally used to create the backup set. The xml.cgz files are encrypted and requires the license key to be able to import.
