Cannot Start VM restored.[TMS 19668]

Postby valpas » Tue Nov 21, 2017 8:06 pm

Hello,
I restored a windows machine after copying it (Win 7 64bit). The problem is that after success restore the machine does not start. Shows the famous blue screen of Windows (which I have attached). I tried several times to restore it but it never worked and it happened with other machines as well. This problem is very serious since the only backup copy is made with CloudBacko. How is the problem solved?

Hello,

May I ask which Cloudbacko version are you using? To help us looking into this issue, could you please provide us with the Cloudbacko client log files for our investigation?

You can copy the log files & screenshots to Dropbox, OneDrive, Google drive etc and share the link on this thread for us to download?

Please refer to our FAQ "Where are the CloudBacko backup and restore logs located?" viewtopic.php?f=58&t=233

Hello,

Instead of the restore log, could you please send us the whole .cbp folder including the backup log files?

Dear Support,
It's been a long time since then and I have not received any more updates about my serious problem. As I have already told you, I currently have a single backup and it is only through your application. I am very disappointed and I want an answer soon. Your software must make backups and also allow me to restorethe machines. The software must do its job, otherwise it's a mockery.

Regards,

Hi,

Please try to run IntegrityCheck with CRC enabled for that backup set, then attach the IntegrityCheck log from .obm\system

Besides, did restore the raw and manually import allowed you to power on without blue screen?

Hi,

Besides, we would like to know the result of following case

1. Restore other backed up vm of that esxi set
2. Restore that affected vm from the inital snapshot(so no delta from other snapshot)
3. Run fresh backup of that affected vm in a new backup set and then restore it
4. Choose restore raw files, then manually import after restore finish.

Thanks

Dear, thank you for your support, I appreciated it, but this experience made us lose confidence in your software. Had we been in a data recovery emergency, it would have been an economic disaster for the company. Sorry, but we decided to change your solution with another one. Best Regards.

Hi valpas,

Can you give us a second chance and provide me with Teamviewer access to your environment within the next hour for our developer to do troubleshooting? I believe our development team is able to solve your problem if your backup data is problem-free. Please kindly send the Teamviewer info to "mkt-kb@ahsay.com"

Kind regards,
